BUS STATION SERVICE YARD -A bioretention channel system required at the Stagecoach Bus Station in Cwmbran, Wales. A drainage channel solution capable of filtering and removing heavy metals and hydrocarbons from the surface water run-off was required here. MEACLEAN PRO EXPERT channel with E600 ductile iron grating was the product of choice for this project to fit in with their environmentally friendly depot.
SOLUTION
A total of 241 metres of our MEACLEAN PRO EXPERT channels with E600 ductile gratings were supplied and installed on this project.

MEACLEAN PRO EXPERT channel is made from glass-fibre reinforced composite with a galvanised steel edge rail. Inside the channel is placed two-levels of filter media, with space plate beneath for drainage of filtered water. E600 ductile gratings then fit into the top of the channels.MEACLEAN PRO EXPERT is made from glass-fibre-reinforced composite, making the channels lightweight, extremely robust and heat resistant. They remain permanently stable and do not deform. The channels are significantly lighter than concrete channels but are in no way inferior to them in terms of efficiency or load-bearing capacity. They also perfectly defy the effects of the weather, they are insensitive to frost, de-icing salt, oils and other chemicals.
