In order to efficiently drain surface water at the Landrover dealership, a D400 loading class with a heel resistant slotted iron grating to suit both pedestrian and vehicular traffic was required. Our extremely strong yet lightweight GRP system, the MEARIN Expert 100 channel complete with D400 Slim Slot Ductile Iron gratings was the product of choice.
SOLUTION: MEADRAIN EXPERT D400
A total of 1,059 metres were supplied and successfully installed on this project. MEA UK provided a free of charge hydraulic design calculation proving that a 100mm nominal width system could be used on the site. Our MEARIN Expert 100 channels complete with D400 Slim Slot Ductile Iron gratings were the product of choice.
MEARIN Expert 100 is made from glass-fibre-reinforced composite and is one of a range of MEARIN products offering a choice of widths and depths to suit specific requirements. These drainage channels are lightweight, extremely robust and heat resistant. They remain permanently stable and do not deform. Such qualities ensure a high level of installation safety, lower maintenance costs and a long service life.
Although MEARIN Expert is significantly lighter than concrete channels, it is in no way inferior to them in terms of efficiency and load-bearing capacity. MEARIN Expert also perfectly defies the effects of the weather; the channel is insensitive to frost, de-icing salt, oils and other chemicals.
