Halle / L50 – When renovating the L50 between Könnern and Halle an der Saale (Saxony-Anhalt, Germany), the planners and clients were looking for a reliable and effective solution to drain the busy road, secure the adjacent cycle path and at the same time supply the neighbouring trees and nature with water.

SOLUTION

MEAKERB 2-1 kerb channels are now also being used on the L50. Thanks to their high load class of D 400, they ensure safety on the road and the adjacent cycle path. Drainage takes place in specially installed trenches, which are used for tree irrigation and infiltration directly on site.

An existing junction, including a traffic light crossing, was also realised barrier-free with MEAKERB kerbside channels. This means that all road users can safely participate in road traffic.

IN A NUTSHELL

Thanks to the MEAKERB 2-1 kerb channel, all road users on and around the L50 can feel a little safer. At the same time, the collected water ensures that the neighbouring trees will continue to provide shade for cyclists on the cycle path for many years to come.
