For widths greater than 1200 mm, multiple individual loads of 1.5 kN (or 2.0 kN) are applied to areas of 100 x 100 mm along the length of the nosing at 600 mm intervals simultaneously. The number of simultaneous individual loads is determined by the following formula: span width (width) / 600 [mm]. The resulting value is rounded off to the nearest whole number. The maximum deflection is 1/300 of the span width and should not exceed a total of 6 mm.
In order to handle these loads, an extremely stable load bearing structure made from steel channel section is integrated into all wide-span MEA stair tread gratings. Of course MEA stair tread gratings are made with a double perforated nosing on the leading edge and steel end plates with drill holes for rapid staircase assembly in compliance with DIN 24531. The treads are made from steel and hot-dip galvanised in compliance with DIN EN ISO 1461.

MEA stair treads are produced in sizes from 270 x 1600 to 400 x 3000 mm (w x l) with mesh spacings of 30x30 or 30x10. If desired, slip resistant protection can be added to the bearing and cross bars.
