MEA Stair tread gratings are made from steel with the same process used for pressure-locked gratings and hot-dip galvanised per DIN EN ISO 1461.

They include mounting plates, steel end plates with drill holes for rapid staircase assembly. An MEA specialty:

To ensure an optimum load discharge and maximum safety both in planning and installation, the bearing bars are introduced directly into the side mounting plates using notches. In addition, the bearing bars are welded as well. Stair treads have to meet stricter slip resistance requirements.

MEA stair tread gratings, therefore, are manufactured with a double perforated nosing on the leading edge and are tested by the Technical and Test Institute for Construction Prague, in the Pilsen branch office.
MEA stair tread gratings have been assigned to slip resistance assessment group R 12. A corresponding certificate is available.
